My experience in the wine industry spans from managing tasting rooms and staff training, to marketing campaigns and sales, with an emphasis on exclusive, luxury tasting experiences.
I’m on a mission to share the experience of being alive through wine, with a tilt toward the existential.
I believe in creating the experience of wine, the fellowship of its community, the path from vine to bottle to table, and the relationships that it creates. Most importantly, I believe that there are simple ways to foster the experience of something that is greater than the sum of its parts. In fact, I live for creating that experience.
I call myself the Existential Wine Guy because I experience wine differently than others. I don’t expect a cabernet to taste like a cabernet. Instead, I breathe it in without expectation. Every glass is its own unique experience, creating a new sense of wonder and imagination and memory that I share with my guests.

My Story
As a long time advocate of wine and the wine industry, I have not taken the short road to get here. I have been lucky. For most of my professional career I have been able to follow my two passions: movies and wine.
For over fifteen years I was an account representative in the home video distribution industry. Or, more simply, I sold movies to video stores. That experience proved invaluable to me later when I made a career change and entered the wine industry. I got to work with hundreds of independent businesses big and small. I was able to consult with them about all aspects of their business, from what movies to bring in, how their staff should sell them, and even how to position their store in the community. I learned and educated at the same time.
And then it was time to make my passion for wine my professional work . . . full time. After working in winery tasting rooms for awhile, I began to realize that I knew I was doing something different from what owners asked me to do or, in some cases, didn’t know how to ask me to do.
My past sales and consulting experience began to shine through, and I quickly became the number one sales person behind the counter. Not just in wine but in wine club memberships. I was doing something different.
Soon I was managing wine tasting rooms, increasing their wine club memberships, in some cases by 200%. More importantly, I was building customer loyalty. I did it all by creating the best experience possible for my clients.
